Section Engineer - Man Enterprise Jun 18th 2013, 06:30 Job purpose : The Section Engineer assists the Construction Manager in planning, scheduling, and coordinating engineering tasks and monitoring progress of works to meet deadlines on his assigned zone. •Attends coordination meetings. •Plans, organizes, and prioritizes the work of engineers on site. •Oversees the daily management of labor and materials costs. •Directs construction activities. •Manages any problems encountered on site during construction and manages quality control, health and safety issues. •Reviews engineering and architectural drawings and specifications for accuracy and completeness. •Implements policies and procedures, oversees the performance of all subcontractors to ensure that works are completed according to construction plans, specifications and schedule. •Prepares resource forecasts for specific activities relating to the project. •Manages project team resources. •Provides functional guidance, direction and briefing to the Site Engineers. •Processes requests for Information and Change Orders, and prepares periodic progress reports. •Supervises site engineers, foremen and subcontractors. •Provides assistance to the construction manager. •Liaise with architects, engineers, surveyors and planners. •Avoid and prevent disputes & tense relations with other parties and solve problems.
