CH2M HILL Interface Lead (Dry Utilities)- Doha, Qatar
Project Info & Job Purpose:
Qatar will be hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ and become the first Middle East nation in history to stage this event. The associated construction programme will be part of a major country regeneration programme including the development of required infrastructure, competition and noncompetitive venues.
CH2M HILL is the programme management (PMC) responsible for the construction management of competition venues, training sites, associated common domain precincts and the coordination of the regeneration programme integration works, acting on behalf of the client Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Background: There are numerous electricity generation, transmission and distribution projects currently being planned by Kahramaa that are required to ensure the success of the tournament. The projects affect the delivery of critical infrastructure including the Metro, New Port Project, HIA as well as competition and non-competition venues. In addition there are complex interfaces with ongoing infrastructure programmes which require careful management to ensure Q22 critical infrastructure is not affected. Kahramaa are currently delayed in awarding the next Phase (Phase XI) of their transmission expansion works which is creating extremely challenging deadlines in order to meet programme requirements. The competition venue projects are also become more developed through the design and implementation stages and integration into Kahramaa’s expansion projects requires careful management across the programme.
The role is to work closely with Kahramaa Projects and their appointed Contractors, and key stakeholders, on an ongoing basis to monitor the progress of implementation of the critical electrical projects and identify critical or near critical activities at an early stage to allow successful intervention. Project delivery plans and schedules will be critically reviewed to provide delivery assurance and contribution made to acceleration and / or recovery plans as required. The appointee will assist to facilitate and contribute to coordination resolution meetings between key stakeholders. The appointee will also assist with problem resolution with interface / coordination programme issues that arise at competition venues.
The role will prepare assessments of Kahramaa’s electricity projects planning and implementation and provide progress, risk and mitigation reports; and recommendations for improvement.

Chartered status is preferred or membership with other professional affiliated institutions’
15 – 20 years experience across design / implementation / management of electricity transmission and generation projects.
