Job Purpose:
Carry out activities to schedule for the manufacturing of steel products in a manner that ensures customer demands are met, and that goods are produced and shipped to buyers in a cost efficient and timely manner.
Accountabilities:
• Prepares production schedules for manufacture of steel products on a monthly and weekly basis.
• Draft master schedule of work to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts/customer orders.
• Support in detailing the materials and machines to be used, cost of materials, mechanical and human resources, the time required and the quality standards to be met.
• Collect, check, and analyze operational and technical data and perform calculations to determine material, equipment and human resource requirements taking into consideration the costs of production to determine how company's resources can be used most productively.
• Liaise with O&M departments on standard work, manufacturing sequence and lead times.
• Participate in scheduling workflow for each O&M department based on agreed manufacturing sequences and lead times.
• Prepare the material requirement yearly plan according to the production plan by assessing the compliance of the production orders with the plan to avoid material shortage.
