The incumbent will be overall responsible for Project Procurement of all items i.e. Mechanical (Pipes, valves, flanges, etc.), Electrical, Insulation, Civil, Water proofing, Capital equipments e.g. AC's, etc.
The incumbent should have import knowledge with good mechanical / Insulation (Aluminum) items purchase exposure.
He will be responsible for the following tasks:
Standardising of vendors for various items required in a showroom, warehouse of service station construction.
To develop vendors for all civil, capital purchase requirements in the GCC region with focus on Oman, UAE and KSA.
Scrutinize the indents with regard to specifications, quantity, last supplier, last rates, floating enquires.
Receipt of quotations and deciding orders after negotiations.
To ensure consistency of quality of materials being procured throughout the year and have a periodic review of suppliers and rates comparing with the best in the market.
To ensure continuity of supply of materials with proper follow-up of suppliers and report progress to indenters.
To maintain good buyer - seller relations.
Study markets and keep abreast of new developments in materials of interest to the industry.
Locate suitable sources of supply and maintain adequate and up to date records about them including their reliability on the basis of past performance.
Maintain proper purchase records for future use and guidance.
Ensure timely release of payments to the vendors and handle vendor grievances if any.
Handling of rejections and shortages.
Responsible for Monthly as well as Quarterly MIS Report for the Management.
He should be well conversant with import procedures and systems.
Preferably he should have knowledge of Material Management Module of SAP.
