Acceptance Technician (Physical Check, Home Passed, Home Connected) - Qatar National Broadband Network Jan 9th 2013, 16:48 Division: Operations Department: Network Operations & Maintenance Reports to: Acceptance Testing Supervisor Job Summary • Responsible for conducting acceptance tests on the network ensuring that all requirements have been met in order to handover for the operations in accordance to QNBN specifications. Main Responsibilities • Conduct acceptance tests on the network using the appropriate methods, tools and equipment and within the right environment. • Conduct Physical verification for the following: • Cable laying, racking and labeling inside joint boxes • Joint closures fixing and labeling • Joint boxes labeling • ODF installation, cable fixing and labeling inside the CO • ODF installation, cable fixing in MDU and within the risers • Patch cords cables & labeling in CO and MDU • ODF and splitter racks inside CO and MDU • Joint closures and cable installation inside the vault room • Verify all as-built file details related to fiber cabling, joint closures, ODF and racking. • Ensure that all patch cords, splitter racks, ODF racks and all equipment installed in CO as well as the MDU have been labeled according to Q.NBN coding system. • Supervise the installation & the acceptance of 3rd party work related to connecting home passed users prior to customer provisioning. • Peform testing on the fibre network sections from CO till FTB. • Perform fibre splicing (mechanical & fusion) and patching in the telecom rooms or multiple locations • Prepare techincal link test reports and inform the NOC of any faulty links. • Ensure that all acceptance forms are duly filled and signed. • Identify and escalate non acceptance results for correcting. • Coordinate implementation team on the testing and handover for network. • Maintain and continuously update the acceptance testing log for reference. • Adhere to the acceptance testing processes and procedures are strictly followed and met. • Practice duties and roles in line with the authorities as illustrated in the authority matrix. • This covers the key responsibilities to be performed, but is not all inclusive. It does not preclude other responsibilities from being assigned and undertaken.
