Cashier Feb 13th 2013, 06:53 Functional Description: This Position is responsible to collect and process cash payments using manual and/or computerized accountancy processes. Major Duties and Responsibilities • Receives cash and issue receipts using a computerized cash receipting process. • Maintain accurate financial records of cash collected, carrying out regular balances of cash transactions and resolving any discrepancies. • Reconcile cash transactions to general ledgers and bank statements. • Maintain all necessary records and information in a secure and accurate manner to ensure that there is full information about cash transactions. • Maintain regular contact with internal accounting staff and banks to receive and pass on relevant information. • Take all necessary security precautions to ensure that cash is held in a safe and secure manner. Note: this job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to the above duties. May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services. Reporting Line This position reports to the Chief Accountant. Span of Control This position has no supervisory authority.
