Job purpose of Import Logistics Manager is to work towards developing a thorough understanding of our customer requirements. Reviews and processes day to day operations. Plans and schedules appropriate service line for situation (ground, expedited, air, ocean, etc). Ensures compliance with all government related programs specific to mode and direction of related shipments.
- Key Accountability
• Ensure proper documentation, including transit documents and customs clearances, exists for shipments. Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed and released to carrier, forwarders, suppliers and agents in a timely manner.
• Arrange all necessary data entry and confirmation of key milestones (departure, arrival, customs clearance, PODs, etc.) as specified by Supply Chain Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintain courteous, prompt and efficient supplier & customer relations.
• Plans and schedules appropriate modes of transportation based on daily needs. Schedules the appropriate service line for the situation (across all modes and all trade lanes) to maintain a cost effective balance between customer service and cost of shipment.
• Works closely with supplier representative to ensure service satisfaction. Analyzes service failures/ issues and implements performance processes to enhance future service delivery.
• Responsible for resolving all internal client issues and expeditious manner. Works closely with Supplier's representatives to ensure service satisfaction. Analyzes service failures/issues and implements performance improvement processes to enhance future service delivery.
• Ensures that all agencies provide us goods on time according to the agreed shipping schedule.
• Deliver the complete material flow cycle (from the supplier up to warehouse), to ensure the end user requirements are met in terms of quantity and time line.
• Direct implementing of the plans and projects set by the supply planning manager to ensure efficiency material flow process
• Regular contacts with suppliers and service providers, to confirm the orders and following up shipment.
• Leads a strong reporting system to ensure the information sharing between the divisions and departments.
• Monitors the performance of the supplier to agree service level is maintained. Identifies areas of shortfall and recommends remedial action.
• Daily updating for all Inbounds & GIT.
• To develop and upgrade the supply chain procedures required for achieving best business results.
