As a Lawyer for Ernst & Young MENA your role involves devising, implementing and ensuring compliance with policies to minimise the firm's exposure to risk and litigation by the provision of strategic and proactive advice and training to all Partners and staff of the Ernst & Young Middle East North Africa group of independent member firms.

The successful candidate will report into and work alongside the Middle East General Counsel and provide assistance with respect to:

(a) Reviewing, drafting, amending and negotiating Ernst & Young's Standard Terms of Business, Confidentiality Agreements, local, regional and global Master Service Agreements, Joint Ventures and Sub-Contracts either directly with clients, their legal counsel or the other client representatives in order to ensure compliance with global policies, including but not limited to the EYG Independence Policy, Scope of Services and Engagement Agreement Global Policy.

(b) Providing advice, guidance and training to engagement teams (from junior staff to Partners) within each of the Service Lines relating to Risk, Risk Mitigation, Local Legislation/Regulations/Professional Obligations, Negotiation Skills, General Terms & Conditions, Engagement Policies, Independence Policies and other Ernst & Young policies.

(c) Reviewing and advising on third party contracts in the Middle East Sub-Area in relation to all aspects of the business

(d) Corporate governance and structure of the Ernst & Young Middle East North Africa entities and their corporate development: establishing new entities and liquidating old, disposal and acquisition of businesses, transfers of businesses between entities and restructuring;

(e) Providing advice and support in relation to:
(i) employment law related matter;
(ii) claims and litigation including but not limited to amicable settlements of disputes (ADR and Court proceedings in MENA including the DIFC);
(iii) investigations and compliance with regulatory inspections, Ethics Point Complaints and
(iv) implications of EU and US sanctions against countries in MENA.

(f) Providing litigation support.
