About your Job::

In this role you will support the formulation of a rolling 3 to 5 years Doha International Airport (DIA) application systems strategy working closely with Head of DIA IT. Manage overall relations with DIA internal customers, understand and translate customer needs to develop, implement and manage IT solutions. Ensure delivery of all IT solutions, projects and services to DIA business units in a timely and cost effective manner based on defined standards and quality criteria. Ensure DIA applications are periodically benchmarked against competitive solutions in terms of functionality, technology and cost and future application strategy is aligned to make sure DIA gets the best. Work closely with key tenants/stakeholders like Qatar Airways, Qatar Aviation Services, Ministry of Interior, Customs to integrate applications where appropriate and exploit synergies where beneficial.

You will establish a customer oriented unit that acts as single point of contact for all IT applications related matters to DIA business units. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business unit managers through regular direct contact. Agree on action plans to address any concerns, and allocate team resources accordingly. Represent the IT organisation in front of the customers and ensure the delivered services are according to the agreed requirements and objectives. Define the annual work programme, business area IT budgets and delivery approach for the work programme. Monitor and review key business cases for all major investments to ensure they are cost effective. Resolve conflicts and prioritise investment across business areas. Ensure that service level objectives are agreed with the customers for all application services, that the service levels are relevant, achievable and cost effective in delivery and that the performance against service level objectives is reviewed with customers. Manage escalations from customers regarding the service levels. Ensure the implementation and institutionalisation of processes, based on industry standards within this organizational unit. Drive continuous improvement based on customer feedback. Ensure that the service levels required by customers can be supported and to review potential opportunities for proactively enhancing these. Ensure that the required number of resources with the relevant skills is available for project delivery.

About You::

To be successful in the role you must hold a Bachelor's degree either Computer Science or Engineering. At least 12 years total IT experience, of which 3 years must be managerial level (ideally within a customer service and software development environment). Must have experience in the travel domain for at least 8 years out, which 5 years should be at a medium to large sized airport managing Airport IT applications / systems.
