Key Accountabilities
Timely receipt of merchandise at warehouse
Implementation of best practices in supply chain to reduce costs and improve delivery time
Optimise freight cost
Reduction in time for re-export of merchandise and related activities
Complete responsibility of Third party logistics operations.
Supervisory Activities
Supervision of Logistics coordinators.
Overview performance of third party material handling services.
Monitor all correspondence between vendors and forwarders to ensure smooth handover of the shipments.
Review all shipping documents.
Monitor movements of products in and out of the warehouse are in compliance to company policy and procedure.
Reviewing forwarders, import and export reports.
Customs deposit refunds.
Execution Activities
Verifying and approving freight invoices.
Analyzing and negotiating shipping cost with freight forwarders based on various aspects inclusive of weight and volume of each shipment and country of origin.
Advice cheapest mode of transport to Brand Managers to ensure cost effectiveness.
Liaising and negotiating with suppliers and forwarders on all export and import related activities.
Ensure implementation of SOP/KPI strategies that streamline shipment flow which are consistent with overall objective of cost effectiveness and time bound.
Regularly monitor and circulate the latest changes of import/export laws and ensure such knowledge is factored into the logistics and supply planning.
Regularly provide updated import procedure and guidelines to vendors in order to prepare commercial documents in accordance with customs law requirements of UAE.
Prepare C/O from Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce as per the requirements.
Coordinate with all staff and provide required support and guidance.
Ensure tracking of merchandise and consignments in transit after coordinating with external agencies and communicating the status to merchandise team
Forward reports of discrepancies in merchandise received to brand manager.
Ensure relevant documentation for import and for re-export of merchandise for all shipments are prepared.
Coordinate with the Finance Manager to negotiate rates with freight forwarding companies.
Track marine insurance claims and coordinate with insurance companies
Prepare and forward MIS on a pre-defined basis as required
Coordination Activities
Coordinate with personnel in merchandise function to obtain detailed inputs related to delivery/ receipt of merchandise
Coordinate with external agencies to manage clearing and receipt of merchandise from supplier/ principal's port to Abu Dhabi/ Dubai port and delivery from port to warehouse within pre-defined time
Coordinate with licensees/ principals for shipments, duty refund, etc
Coordinate with Insurance companies to track marine claims.
Manage and coordinate for stock control, with warehousing and distribution.
