ABOUT THIS JOB
Provides supervision and leadership to procurement team.Responsible for directing and coordinating the procurement of materials, components, supplies and services essential to the operation of the entity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Quickly create and effective Procurement Team within and across the matrix organization
May have responsibilities for worldwide purchases.
Oversees moderately complex procurement projects and activities.
Drives cost reduction initiatives across the procurement organization and root cause corrective action plans to improve quality.
Responsible for BHI and supplier compliance and performance against established contracts and processes.
Maintains thorough industry and commodity knowledge.
Proposes and implements improvements to procurement policies.
Holds financial responsibility for the procurement team.
Fosters active daily use of continuous improvement tools to improve HS&E, quality, delivery, financial performance, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction.
Handles special projects as assigned.
Conducts all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes health, safety and environmental policies, legal compliance requirements and Baker Hughes core values.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management or equivalent field of study.
Industry Certified Qualifications (CILT, APICS etc)
12+ years experience in sourcing/procurement for direct and indirect spend, including 5+ years experience in leadership roles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Well-rounded Supply Chain experience and job history, preferably with Energy Sector experience.
Well developed Leadership Skills.
Strong negotiation and contract skills and strong alliance management skills.
An understanding of the need for a strategic, dynamic, and multi faceted approach to procurement to ensure that at all times the procurement function is absolutely in line with the business need and the marketplace realities.
A broad and deep understanding of compliance related policies and with a demonstrated track record of unquestionable adherence to them.
Energetic self-starter, must be able to adapt to changing priorities.
Excellent ability to communicate with internal customers and suppliers.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office systems.
SAP knowledge and experience required.
Manufacturing process knowledge helpful.
