Purpose of the post
The Public Communication officer assists the department for all public communication activities of the ICRC in Iraq. He/she contributes to ensure, in agreement with his/her superior, that the ICRC's positioning is clearly defined and communicated, notably through media.
Main Responsibilities
• Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Iraqi media in the whole country
• Contribute to building and maintaining a network of contacts with the Iraqi and regional media
• Organise events and roundtables with media representatives
• Contribute to all written and audio-visual productions of the ICRC (publications, press releases, website updates), in English & Arabic
• Contribute to the production, orders and stock management of publications
• Contribute to ICRC public campaigns to address humanitarian issues in Iraq
• Participate to the improvement of the internal communication within the ICRC
• Keep informed of the overall political and humanitarian situation in Iraq and provide analysis of this information.
• Follow and analyse the perception of the ICRC in Iraq
