EcoSec dept aims at ensuring that households affected by conflict can meet essential needs and maintain sustainable livelihoods. The focus is on providing income support to Syrian refugees living in host communities through the Cash Assistance Project
Standard Function Description
- Assists in running support or operational activities
- Maintains contacts with JRCS Branches and humanitarian actors involved in the Cash Assistance Projects.
- Ensures follow up and updates independently
- Performs various office duties on PC
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Data Management
• Designs assistance programme database
• Ensures proper data collection is carried out by the JRCS staff / volunteers according to the standards
• Ensures data is regularly recorded in EcoSec database
• Verifies the accuracy and consistency of the forms handed over to him
• Extracts cumulative tables for regular programme updates and analyses.
• Ensures that programme recipients' data is created
• Alerts the EcoSec delegate of problems in the database
• Creates electronic forms and tables for project recipient enabling a proper provision of ATM cards by the concerned Bank.
2. Support to Ecosec activities
• Provides regular reports to the EcoSec delegate on the implementation progress of activities.
• Proposes clarifications to the used forms and procedures.
• Keeps the EcoSec delegate informed on any relevant events or observations in the field.
• Supports the training and capacity building of national society staff and volunteers.
3. Project Planning
• Participates in the setting up of the assistance programme.
• Participates in assessments leading to new project implementation (e.g. Vocational Training /livelihood project at household or community levels).
• Participates in the elaboration of the weekly planning of activities.
• Participates in monitoring and evaluation of the program
4. Field Activities
• Supports the identification of beneficiaries, their selection and registration in conjunction with JRCS and relevant local authorities.
• Develops good working relationship with relevant JRCS staff and volunteers.
• Travels frequently to the project sites to monitor the programs
• Applies the Cash Assistance Project vulnerability criteria and other working methodologies
• Explains the ICRC assistance criteria to beneficiaries, local representatives and assistance requesters.
• Records assessment and monitoring data onto EcoSec forms/questionnaires
• Writes a Field Trip Report with brief findings and conclusions.
5. Office activities
• Assures reception and compilation data and statistics
• Contributes to the preparation of official letters, agreements or contracts.
• Establishes and maintains Cash Assistance Project beneficiary filings and related documents of operations.
• Prepares analytical statistical extraction from the database.
• Prepares the requisitions orders upon the request.
6. Interpretation and translation
• Translates (Arabic -English) during the meetings or field visits.
• Translates all related documents
• Collects information on the situation in Syria, socio-political, economic, religious and cultural and relays to direct superior
o Attends meetings, collects information on other actors and their programmes
• Assists direct superior in daily management of the programs
o Plans and organizes meetings
o Makes the appropriate contacts and appointments with external interlocutors
o Performs detailed research on related issues and Syrian humanitarian organisations in Syria
o Follows-up on the dispatch of relief commodities to the IRCS or other partners in close collaboration with the Logistics
7. Reporting
o Updates weekly statistics
o Provides written reports on minutes of meetings
o Compiles weekly contributions from the field for the Weekly Operation Report
o Prepares specific contributions for the Communication department (monthly)
