Strategy
Develop the IT departmental strategy in line with the functional strategy to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies across Al Foah.
Ensure that departmental strategies and related strategic plans are developed and implemented, which are aligned with the vision and mission of Al Foah.
Leadership
Manage the effective achievement of the IT departmental objectives through setting individual objectives, recruiting qualified staff, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximise subordinate and IT departmental performance.
Organisation Structure
Define an optimum organisation structure for the IT department so that resources are optimally utilised and communication can take place in an efficient manner.
Budgets and Plans
Oversee the consolidation and recommend the IT department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
Develop and oversee the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of the IT department activity (such as End User Manuals, domestic & over sees policies etc.) so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
IT need assessment
Analyze the IT and information needs of Al Foah and its business units, from an operational & strategic perspective and determine immediate and long term personnel and equipment requirements.
Vendors relationship
Validate purchase requirements of hardware and software and any other IT peripherals and approve as per delegation of authority.
Evaluate and select IT vendors to ensure that the most appropriate service is yielded.
Negotiate high priority business requirements / initiatives with service providers and ensure appropriate service level agreements are in place and monitor the performance to ensure service levels are in line with the set and agreed standards.
IT Framework
Develop an IT framework for Al Foah to reduce cost and acquire leading edge expertise.
Review in conjunction with the respective business unit heads, technology requirements to support business requirements; guide and oversee implementation of appropriate technology solutions.
IT Risk Management Framework
Establish Corporate IT risk management guidelines and processes in order to ensure regular review of IT security standards.
Ensure and oversee all IT Audit activities are conducted in a timely manner and all system requirements are met / fulfilled.
Relationship Management
Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all relevant external/internal entities (External Product / Service Providers, etc.) and all units with highest standards of business ethics, whilst promptly attending to all critical issues in-order to ensure the services required by the organization are delivered in the most effective manner.
