Aircraft Ground Equipment Lead Technician
This position supports the C17 Field Services International team based at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.
Description
• The successful candidate will lead a group of Aircraft Ground Equipment Technicians responsible for aircraft ground equipment maintenance.
• In addition, s/he will provide technical oversight and assistance to Qatar Air Force personnel in maintaining complex C17 common and peculiar support equipment, mission equipment, and systems by removing, replacing, repairing or upgrading components.
• Candidate must be able to troubleshoot problems, isolate faulty components, and conduct functional tests by operating equipment and using appropriate test equipment.
• The candidate will perform and assist Qatar Air Force personnel perform a variety of inspections as required by equipment maintenance technical orders/manufacture manual.
• The candidate will also document maintenance and inspection actions as required and assist the Qatar Air Force as well.
• This person will effectively work with program members, suppliers and customers to provide a quality product at a remote foreign location.
• This job may be level 2 or level 3 and will determined by the level of experience and qualifications of the selected candidate, in relation to the scope and responsibility of the position.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
Do you have at least 3 years of AIRCRAFT ground equipment experience?
Typical Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED and typically 7 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in the use and maintenance of C17 common and peculiar US Air Force support equipment, and technical data systems and understand the requirements for equipment calibration and weight checks. Experience in leading a team as well as knowledge and experience of aircraft ground equipment.

This job requires a good level of experience and qualifications in relation to the scope and responsibility of the position. This position requires shift-work, standby, and possibly some travel. Familiarity with the Arabic language, and the C-17 Aircraft is a plus. Position requires relocating to Qatar and has a limited relocation package. Successful candidate will go through healthcare and background checks as required by the Qatari Immigration rules and regulations.
