1. Carryout routine power system operational and housekeeping activities to sustain plant capacity according to operational, safety, health, environmental, reliability and engineering standards.
2. Carryout safe preparation of equipment for maintenance, and monitoring the work to ensure compliance with work permits requirements.
3. Lead the power switching activities according to the approved operating procedures and general instructions.
4. Efficiently monitor power system operating conditions. Also, use established reporting systems (i.e. ops log book) to document plant/facility operating parameters and maintenance activities.
5. Proactive in identifying potential operating problems and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
6. Handle emergency situations in accordance with YASREF standard procedures and instructions.
7. Responsible for his own safety and others. Apply safe working practices and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations.
8. Accurately and timely report Unsafe Acts, Near Misses and Incidents. Take corrective and preventive actions to resolve the safety issue/situation.
9. Participate in reviewing/updating operating instructions.
10. Engaged in establishing development plans for him and others. Accountable to implement his own development plans.
11. Perform other job-related duties as requested by the Shift Supervisor (Power Systems).
