web Developer - Globitel May 5th 2013, 05:21 Perform a variety of programming assignments and conduct unit tests and black box testing for either new or modified programs/applications and coordinates with QA for complete testing.  Understand the system development lifecycle and demonstrate an awareness of established capacity thresholds.  Understand the function of the program and apply technical standards to perform assigned tasks.  Understand the multiple tools used to perform a single task.  Provide estimates for assigned tasks.  Code and compile individual programs using prescribed specifications.  Conduct trial runs of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct. Take action to correct deficiencies.  Review and modify existing code when needed.  Plan and execute unit test and black box test and properly document results.  Coordinate with the Quality Assurance Team for testing programs and software applications.  Investigate, analyze, solve and document reported programming defects.  Create and maintain documents which describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.  Design and develop data models and database architecture. This includes stored procedures/triggers, indexing/index tuning and database sizing.  Construct, install and test the database system.  Customize existing databases for specific needs.  Implement maintenance strategies at customer sites.  Ensure proper access permissions and privileges are implemented on the database.  Develop and implement back-up and recovery plans.  Advise other team members on database best practices.  Create and maintain an updated list of data necessary to implement our services such as country codes, operator codes and location codes.  Assist the support team to troubleshoot issues occurring at client site (when needed).  Thoroughly understand the effect of own task performance on the overall system performance. Investigate and resolve problems as they occur. Escalate issues when necessary.
