Roles and responsibilities :
• Develop the strategy for the Finance function in light of the goals set by the Board of Directors.
• Set goals and objectives for the Finance Business Unit.
• Supervise the development of the operational policies, programs, procedures and methods that will achieve the set goals and objectives.
• Plan, monitor, and control the overall activities of departments under his control.
• Establish financial internal control measures and implement them on all financial transaction within the Company.
• Preparation of the financial statements for the Company.
• Manage and supervise the accounting activities, following up on branch accounts.
• Supervise and/or produce all types of accounting and finance reports as per the requirement of upper management.
• Ensure that the authorization of payments according to approved procedures.
• Supervise banks' reconciliation, financial reconciliation and adjustments, period/year end activities, and accounting reports.
• Supervise the cash management policies and maintain and manage short term finance resources.
• Set the annual budget for the business unit.
• Supervise on the open, close and manage bank accounts and cash flows, in addition to maintain fixed assets registration, processing and inventory taking.
• Supervise the overall cash flow plan.
• Supervise the financial performance indicators for the Company.
• Supervise the modules that can predict future cost trends.
• Supervise on the cost benefit analysis, cost volume profit analysis, and cost allocation bases.
• Negotiate with financial institutions regarding bank loans.
• Supervise the forecasts of revenues, operating costs and profit.
• Assist in review operating budgets periodically to analyze trends affecting budget needs, prepare and justify budget requests.
• Control of expenses made to carry out activities.
• Supervise and follow up on receivable collections as well as undertaking cost reduction and saving studies.
• Make sure production & reinsurance departments recording of transactions on the system is true and fair.
• Coordinate with insurance departments swift accounting related to Reinsurance.
• Coordinate with the Internal Audit Manager and ensure that the external auditors are provided with all the necessary schedules and statements for them to carry out their reviews and answer all queries arising from the audit review process and reports results to the DGM Support Services for review.
• Prepare and/or perform special assignments as directed by the CEO.
• Evaluate his staff and recommend annual raises according to their performance.
• Assume all authorities outlined in the authority schedules.
Education Requirements:
• BA Degree in Finance or Financial Management or Accounting.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
Work experience requirements :
• 5-10 years of professional experience in which at least three years as an accounting department supervisor in an insurance company.
