Network Support Engineer – UAE Nationals - DP World Aug 25th 2013, 07:47 Job Purpose: To provide maintenance and support of DP World network infrastructure on a 24 x 7 basis to effectively meet operations, business and organizational requirements. Principal Responsibilities: 1. To provide regular administration and support of wired and wireless network infrastructure, wireless network systems ( CISCO) to effectively meet business operational demands at all times 2. To configure all enterprise class wireless network gateway namely Cisco, Aruba, Avaya and Proxim, monitor wired and wireless network performance, capture log file for trend analysis. 3. To assist the IT support team in conducting Test and evaluate new technologies in wireless and security, implementing patches and upgrades, and conduct periodic maintenance as per the required standard set by the IT security team. 4. To provide assistance in coordinating with Hardware Vendors for obtaining desired configuration 5. Formulate Wireless Network controllers, Access points, configuration Backup/Recovery procedures, so that Wireless coverage can be restored in the event of any hardware failure. 6. To seek proactive measurement to minimize the problems which can occur in the Network Infrastructure and recommend suggestion of new wired and wireless LAN Technology and standards. 7. Provide additional network coverage as and when required, to meet dynamic needs of business requirements. 8. To assist the firewall management team for implementing and testing the concepts of secure Wired and Wireless networks namely 802.11i, 802.1x, Wireless IDS/IPS and firewalls. 9. To maintain all records and documentation of the Wired and Wireless network infrastructure, network diagrams, VLAN & SSID details, IP addressing schemes for future reference and documentation. 10. Assist in preparing and maintaining documentation of infrastructure procedures, operational instructions, user manual, quality assurance program & IT Standards, policies and other relevant documents to standardize the IT function.
