Job Title : Insurance Specialist
Reports to : Finance Department Manager
Department : Finance Department
A. Job Purpose:
- Ensure adequate and cost efficient insurance coverage for SSC staff, properties, and projects.
B. Description:
Insurance Strategy and Planning
- Set and implement insurance policies and guidelines for SSC staff, projects under construction, property under operations, third party liability insurance, and others.
- Prepare the annual insurance plan and budget based on SSC projects and properties under operations.
- Provide input relating to insurance clauses of all SSC contracts.
Insurance Service Delivery
- Obtain quotations from insurance companies for newly acquired PPE's.
- Analyze the offers of different insurance provider and preparation of a comparative analysis for management selection.
- Deal with insurance companies in enrolling new PPE's subject to insurance coverage.
- Ensure that insurance claims are filed on time.
- Track expiry dates of insurance policies to ensure all policies are timely renewed and re-negotiate renewals.
- Coordinate with insurance companies, government offices or hospitals in ensuring that claims are being recovered based on the policy.
- Coordinate with the general accounting section any insurance related issues for proper handling in the book of accounts.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned or required.

- Hospitals.
