Job Information & Purpose:
Reports to: Managing Director
Responsible to manage the internal audit function and oversee the successful execution of the Internal Audit plan and programs. Also responsible to ensure endering of internal audit advisory services to the individual departments as and when required by Board of Directors (BOD) or the Board Audit Committee (BAC).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in the development of an Audit Strategy supported with the right audit program and ensure it is in strategic alignment with the overall business objectives
Develop and maintain an internal audit charter that includes internal audit processes, policies and internal control standards for approval of the Alwaseeta Board of Directors
Represent and uphold Alwaseeta's brand image in all external platforms and projects as well as professional and industry forums
Develop the internal audit plan and submit it to the audit committee/board of directors for review and approval.
Develop the audit programs to ensure adequate and comprehensive coverage of the audit objectives and submit to the audit committee/ board of directors for review and approval.
Execute the approved Internal Audit plan and audit programs by reviewing the internal control, financial reporting, risk management, corporate governance framework, policies and procedures.
Propose methods to address internal control deficiencies and provide evidential support for all control deficiencies noted deficiencies or discrepancies noted.
Conduct operational audit of every department within Alwaseeta to identify exceptions and report the same to the Audit Committee by creation of action plans to address anomalies, if found.
Review the status of follow up audits on implementation of audit recommendations particularly the high risk open items and report it to the senior management
Determine areas of risk and appraise their significance in relation to operational factors of cost, schedule, and quality to highlight probable financial loss or regulatory non-compliance that could result in monetary penalties/ reputation damage.
Develop organization wide KPls (Key Performance Indicators) in order to ensure appropriate internal audit reporting mechanisms in line with leading practices.
Manage the identification of potential risks in various departments through the internal audit process and work with the risk management team to assess the level of risk to be monitored and controls to be recommended.
Review any system/ process/ policy changes and enhancements to ensure that they are in alignment with the company's standard practices and provide enough data security and control
Oversee and verify the areas identified by the Managing Director with weak controls and prone to risk and update its progress according to the plan
Manage special audits of problem areas or for certain specific reasons, as and when directed by the Managing Director, Board of Directors and Board Audit Committee
Oversee the physical verification of assets as part of the internal audit requirements
Communicate and work with external auditors as and when necessary.
