An International Engineering Consulting Firm seeks to hire Electrical Design Department Manager for its Qatar and Egypt offices.
Two Vacancies:
- Electrical Design Department Manager - Qatar Office (Code DM - Qatar)
- Electrical Design Department Manager - Egypt Office (Code DM - Egypt)
Required Nationalities:
British, American, Australian, South African, Egyptian
Main Responsibilities:
- Directs, organizes and controls the Electrical engineers and draftsmen to carry out all Electrical activities including; appraisal, design, and contract documentation of projects.
- Verifies that all Electrical designs, drawings and documents complies with current codes and standards and in accordance with the company's policies and standards.
- Checks the design criteria and basic designs of Electrical engineering works to obtain the maximum quality.
- Prepares and maintains the overall plan of work for the Electrical Department.
- Maintains records of work progress of the Electrical department and liaises with other staff as required.
- Provides information and/or assistance to project groups as required on Electrical design matters.
- Prepares training programs and trains the department staff to improve their performance in Electrical analyses and design.
- Participates in Electrical engineering societies, committees, conferences and programs to best reflect the company's capabilities.
- Reviews and approves the technical quality of all work performed within the department.
- Ensures that all necessary inter- Electrical and other communication are being effectively accomplished at all levels.
- Plans the manpower of the department among the yearly projects needs
- Controls the correct and neat handling and updating of available codes/standards/catalogs and Keeps alert of current technology in Electrical design.
- Controls the corrective actions of negative findings in the attitude of the personnel department.
- Reviews unusual or complex design problems and provide guidance for the solution either personally, by subordinate staff, or by outside consultants.
