This position recommends equipment servicing policies, and monitors equipment maintenance programs. In addition, this position coordinates and assists with fleet vehicle leasing; and vehicle replacement planning. This position will report to the Fleet Manager.
• Prepare reports related to budget expenditures and forecast, vehicle usage, and maintenance schedules.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules for company fleet and mobile equipment units.
• Monitor vehicle service and repair charges for appropriateness, completeness, and accuracy. Schedule routine vehicle maintenance with the operators and shops.
• Evaluate schedules, track field design changes and coordinate with the shops modifications of equipment to meet the unique needs of the Utility.
• Facilitate stakeholder and end user meetings to determine needs specifications and requirements for vehicles and specialized equipment. Work with management and equipment operators to ensure SCL fleet and mobile equipment meet all applicable standards.
• Establish/plan replacement process by evaluating equipment needs and goals for procurement and researching options and alternatives.
• Negotiate with vendors on purchases and warranties. Identify and determine best alternatives of technical and material support and negotiate strategies to obtain quality parts and mate
