Business Brief
The business is a dynamic food service company employing in excess of 200 employees, operating both Business to Business services as well as a wide range of generic branded consumer food and beverage outlets.

Person Specification
A consummate and dedicated food and beverage professional, driven by exacting operational, product and service standards with a strong profit motive . The successful candidate needs entrepreneurial skills and the ability to recognize and pursue growth opportunities . Outgoing and able to communicate at all levels, Arabic speaker with an excellent command of English. Given the scale and scope of the responsibilities and accountabilities it is anticipated that someone under their mid thirties would have the experience and maturity to perform the role.

The General Manager reports to the Regional Managing Director of the Company, and shall have overall responsibility to manage and grow the business in a commercially successful, sustainable manner always acting in the highest professional and ethical standards

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivery of agreed financial objectives, specifically:
- Budgeted profitability by entity /business EBITDA;
- Budgeted Debt and Capital Expenditure;
- Control of cash flows;
- Quarterly re-forecasts to reflect on- going trends, maximising upturns and minimising negative trends.

• Product/Service Standards. Ensure regular reviews of product and service standards, both physically and via client feedback, rectifying any issues as speedily as possible.

• Compliance. Ensure compliance with Company/International standards of food safety, safety at work, ramp safety and security of premises, product and people. In addition, ensure that the business under his control comply with the highest standards of corporate governance.

• People. Provide inspirational leadership, direction and motivation to the teams; bringing them together, optimising communication, developing individuals, maximising synergies and ensuring roles are clarified. Specifically, the GM will:
- Provide coaching to direct reports and ensure that this is cascaded;
- Ensure HR policies/processes are consistent, legally compliant and fair to all;
- Create an effective succession plan by business;
- Promote effective, clear and consistent communication throughout the business;
- Recognise excellence - and incentivise their teams to achieve it.

• Relationships. Establish, and proactively manage, regular and open lines of communication with clients, relevant agencies, including security and local authorities together with other group companies .

• Business Development. Specifically, the GM will:
- Identify credible business development opportunities both within the current geographic spread. .
- Once identified, with the support of Regional Managing Director agree next steps by project.

• Reporting. The GM will ensure that regular reports are submitted to the Regional Managing Director, including:
- Trading reports e.g. weekly sales, monthly P & L
- Day to day 'out of ordinary' occurrences
- Compliance reports
- Material negative incidents which impact relationships and/or the image of the business.

• Further develop the culture and style of the Company providing a key influence not only on what the business does, but how it does it, to include a passion for world class customer service (both internal and external) at every level in the business.

• Act as a key ambassador for the Company representing the business externally throughout the industry.

• The post holder will contribute to the development and delivery of the broader business agenda, participating as necessary in strategic projects which impact the wider Company business.
