• Maintains the research Laboratories in the research center based on his/her specialty in compliance with the laws governing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; the standards adopted by the Ministry of Health; and accrediting and regulatory bodies such as the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO); Centers for Disease Control (CDC); National Institutes of Health (NIH); World Health Organization (WHO); Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); National Fire Protection Association (NFPA); Nuclear Regulation Commission (NRC); and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
• Assists in evaluating scientific, medical diagnostics, pathologists research applications received from members of the KAIMRC staff and in improving the quality of research proposals prior to their submission to the research council for review.
• Assists in the periodic assessment of ongoing laboratory research studies.
• Safeguards the safety guidelines when dealing with laboratory materials.
• Engages actively in research (either basic or clinical or both) in the course of own regular professional activities.
• Assists the Senior Research Scientist or the Executive Director of KAIMRC in seeking a progressive growth of investigative work at KAIMRC by: submitting proposals for extramural funding of stimulating investigative studies by other members of the medical and research staff; and by appropriate promotional efforts of the KAIMRC academic programs.
• Assists in the preparation of personnel evaluations for subordinate staff in accordance with Hospital and Departmental personnel policy.
• Assist in long-range planning of research activities at KAIMRC or in the field.
• Assists in the development of the monthly, quarterly, and annual Research Center reports.
• Maintain current clinical expertise through continuing education pursuits.
• Perform other applicable tasks/duties within the realm of their knowledge, expertise and ability as assigned by the Section Head.
• Participates in the training programs for Physicians, Nursing Staff, Laboratory Research Staff, and other healthcare staff regarding the proper use of the Research Laboratory.
• Perform other job related duties as required.
