Our client is a privately owned global producer of industrial minerals and a worldwide distributor of chemical products, with global presence at more than 100 locations in over 50 countries today. They are looking for a Vice President Operations to be based in their regional HQ at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Reporting to the CEO Asia Pacific, the Vice President will oversees the overall operations of the company with direct functional reports of operations directors and department head across Australasia, China, Korea, and South-West Asia region.
You will ensure the efficient and cost effective operations of the mines and plants in order to meet the business demand by the production of consistent quality products suitable for the market; implement and/or fine tune the business processes related to Operations, foster continuous improvement programs and ensure reliable and sustainable plant operations with minimal maintenance issues.
You will also be the representative of The Company for strong interface with JV partners and Government Departments; managing Capital Expenditure budget in line with business plan and co-ordinate timely delivery of all projects (within budget and project scope) with the Regional Engineering Hub. Managing and supporting the Operations teams daily strategy execution and facilitate the know-how transfer. And also ensure compliance with SEQ rules and procedures, as well as compliance with local regulations related to mining and plant operations.

- Mining/Quarrying
- In-house Logistics
- Purchasing (except Strategic Purchases)
- Production
- Packaging
- Maintenance
- Warehousing/Inventories
- Outbound Logistics (with SCM & Sales who set and monitor Quality Standards)
- Order Processing including Invoicing
- Sustainability compliance
- Regional Sales and Operations Planning (with Regional Sales and Regional SCM)
- Investments in Fixed Assets
- Business Specification
- Overall Project Owner
- Distributed Products Inventory Management (with Regional GM Sales)
