The Position:
To develop the long term strategy for the department and provide the framework for Flight Operations Support to achieve safe and efficient operation of Emirates aircraft. Define Flight Operations Support policies and requirements to achieve safe and efficient operation in compliance with International and UAE GCAA regulations.
Maintain a tactical view of the operation to ensure that Flight Operations Support meets the day to day needs of Flight Operations within regulatory requirements whilst maximising commercial payload and minimising cost.
Manage the Flight Operations Support processes to provide operational efficiency, safety and optimisation. These include but are not limited to the Airport Inspection programme and AIR database; efficient flight planning to reduce the cost of Over flight, Flight Monitoring System and Airport Moving Map database for A380 and legacy fleets, use of electronic data and charts to minimise and eliminate paper and the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) being introduced globally.
Maintain business awareness and knowledge of technological evolution in the field of Air Traffic Management and Communication, Navigation, Surveillance (ATM/CNS), flight planning; aircraft avionics and systems on a global scale to ensure that advantage is taken of applicable developments for the benefit of the company.
Ensure departmental analysis and implementation of route development and RNAV/RNP procedures for designated airports to ensure an efficient and safe operation. Maintain the lead that Emirates has established in the field of flexible routing.
Manage aeronautical and dispatch capabilities of new aircraft into Emirates including Electronic Flight Bags and Electronic Flight Folders development
Define objectives for, and delegate management to, Manager Aeronautical Services & ATM for all Aeronautical Services; including FMS navigation databases and documentation, regulatory procedure compliance, AWO, RNAV/RNP, route development, and the promotion and pursuit of air traffic management targets for Emirates.
Define objectives for, and delegate management to, Manager Flight Dispatch for: flight planning system, flight crew preflight and in-flight support including web briefing, operational control, and flight watch for all Emirates aircraft within the regulatory procedure compliance
Represent Emirates at international and regional organisations to ensure that the future growth of regional and global airspace is maximized in order to ensure Emirates operations are the most efficient in fuel and emissions.
Direct and ensure that Emirates are represented at various state, regulatory and international forums to ensure that the operational requirements for routes, airport compatibility and airport infrastructure as regards Air Traffic Management are taken into account.
Develop and qualify human resources within the team. Manage a technically qualified and motivated team of experts and specialists capable of delivering safe and cost effective results, in line with the Company?s requirements. Maintain effective relationship with Fleet Management, Flight Operations Performance, Flight Training and as well as regulatory agencies and state organisations.
