Job Purpose
The purpose of the role is to formulate maintenance schedules, analyse system performance and propose suitable solutions and organise quality inspections of Electrical Systems (LV System). This will be done across all facilities so as to ensure effective utilisation of resources in line with the guidelines set by the Department. The job holder shall use advanced technical engineering expertise and update changes in the processes as required in line with international codes and practices to ensure the highest standard of maintenance, reliable operation and system availability.
Job Accountabilities and Current Objectives
1. To plan and allocate the activities of Electrical Systems (LV System) within the Electrical section in-line with guidelines and procedures set by the department. Provide necessary technical support to specialist and operational teams for the operation and maintenance of related systems in all the facilities of Dubai International.
2. Maintain the detailed asset list and update the same as and when new equipment are added in the facility as part of any modification / upgrade.
3. Prepare maintenance schedule, manpower plan, section's budget, safe operating procedures, and technical scope of work and specifications.
4. Monitor and follow-up on the activities of the outsourced systems contractors and ensure that the department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met. Suggest corrective actions to improve performance.
5. Monitor quality of the completed preventive maintenance job by in-house staff / outsourced systems contractors to ensure that the same is carried out in-line with the manufacturer's recommendations.
6. Study and analyse the problems faced by the Operation's team during their day-to-day activities and attendance of related fault reports so as to come up with solutions.
7. Advice the manger on modifications / upgrades to the equipment / systems and submit the detailed plan / recommendations for the former's approval.
8. Liaise with manufacturer and suppliers for up-to-date knowledge transfer; coordinate with the in-house maintenance team /or the outsourced systems contractor's staff for operation and maintenance.
Communication and Working Relationships
The job holder interacts with all DCAA, DANS, DA units, related authorities, DA stakeholders such as Dnata, EK, Tenants, Police, Immigration, etc. and external parties such as Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers, Manufacturers, etc.
The job holder will be expected to develop a strong professional working relationship with all parties and works in close association and coordination with FM operation area managers.
Key Dimensions and Related Job Results
• Reports to the Manger - FM Electrical and Maintenance & Development - Manager when difficulties arise.
• Maintains close coordination with the FM Department to optimise asset maintenance, activities/processes and operation's cost.
• The jobholder will work within defined policies and procedures and will have a moderate level of independence in taking appropriate decisions to achieve defined objectives.
• Any errors made by the job holder could potentially have a high impact on operations.
Operating Environment
The job holder will work mostly in an air-conditioned office environment. However, at times they may be required to work throughout the company and outside. Therefore, he/she may be exposed to obvious hazards within their role. At times the job holder may have to work and make decisions in a highly pressured environment as any decisions made could highly impact on operations. He /she will work in rotating shifts and will be available on a call basis.
