We are looking for an experienced quality leader who will support us establishing and improving our quality engineering processes.
(Senior) Manager Quality Engineering
This Quality Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a team of quality engineers in our Karlsruhe office. This Quality Engineering Manager will partner with development and quality managers across the business to deliver quality products and services to customers, while continuously assessing and improving development and quality processes. This leader will apply industry best practices in quality to define and drive a quality strategy, lead the team through the execution of the strategy, and utilize metrics to assess progress, continuously learn, and course correct.
Job Responsibilities
Create strategic QA Plan and drive tactical execution year round including:
Manage resource assignments to increase quality & efficiency, while eliminating single points of failure.
Day to day tactical balancing of QA work across teams.
Define and drive strategy for test automation.
Define and maintain metrics for monitoring quality.
Drive QA requirements into longer term technology improvement projects. Develop and build an active QA community
Establish a clear team structure across teams, including well-defined roles and responsibilities.
Build the team - train and hire the right skill sets aligned with strategy.
Create and drive the QA training plan.
Define and document processes and standards.
Implement test case tracking and release readiness mechanisms.
Improve and drive on-boarding of the contingent workforce.
Job Qualifications
BS/MS Computer Science.
Outstanding grasp of software engineering fundamentals and their practical application.
Solid understanding of QA test methodologies, processes and test management tools.
Experienced with automation tools, techniques, methodologies, and testing.
Experienced in providing quality metrics, dashboards, risk analysis, automated tests development, code coverage testing, static and dynamic analysis, load testing, black, gray and white box testing, security, and performance testing.
Experience estimating and managing project resources.
Demonstrated ability to work well with others within and across teams, and with geographically distributed teams.
Experience managing and developing people.
Solid technical aptitude. Must be able to quickly establish credibility with technical community.
Solid communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical issues to engineers and executives.
Self-directed and highly motivated.
Excellent German and English language skills.
