Job Purpose:
To ensure the effective utilization and development of the Readymix equipment and techincal resources to achieve business objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic:
- Develop and implement effective technical strategies that are in line with the overall business strategy of the technical department.
- Develop and implement annual business plan for the technical department to achieve the approved strategy for the technical department and support the overall business plan for the division
- Develop and oversee the implementation of the determined plan of action which ensures the achievement of the targets within the approved business plan for the technical department.
Operational:
- Develop processes and associated procedures that ensures the smooth running of operations of the technical department
- Ensure the total compliance of approved procedures within the technical department.
Financial:
- Develop and oversee the required budget of the Business Plan
- Control expenditure and ensure that it is in line with the Business Plan
- Continuously and proactively manage cost to avoid and cut back on extra costs
People:
- Liaise with HR to ensure department requirements for HR are reflected in the manpower
- Proactively coordinate with HR in regards to STAFF ORIENTATION, training needs analysis, succession planning and career development of staff within the technical Department.
- Manage staff within areas of responsibility to ensure effective utilization of their time and multiskilling.
Miscellaneous:
- Proactively act to reduce reactive downtime and ensure orderly effective responses to emergency situations.
