Purpose: To ensure the proper equipping and maintenance of the Swiss Red Cross vehicle. To be the SRC driver responsible for driving SRC, IFRC, JRC and Delegation personnel and visitors for official purposes and for conducting various errands on behalf of SRC Delegation.
To translate oral from Arabic to English, and English to Arabic during home visits of beneficiaries, meetings with JRC branch volunteers and branch field officer. To translate written Arabic and English upon request of Swiss RC Delegate.
To assist Swiss RC Delegate in implementing the cash assistance program In Jordan.
Any other ad hock tasks, requested by the Swiss RC Delegate.
Specific Duties Responsibilities and Accountability
1. Check on a daily basis that the vehicle parked at the IFRC office is properly equipped. In particular, check that the vehicle contains a first aid kit, a tool set, a torch, a list of emergency numbers and a map of Amman.
2. Check on a daily basis that the vehicles parked at the Delegation office is properly maintained. In particular, check the fuel and oil levels, the water levels in the radiator and batteries, the level of the brake fluid, the lights and indicators, the condition and tension of the fan belt and the tyre pressures and tyre tread (including spare wheel).
3. Report all vehicle defects and any missing items to the SRC cash delegate immediately no matter how minor.
4. Check log books on a daily basis and ensure that recordings are kept up to date. All private mileage in excess of the limits stated in the SRC`s administrative procedures must be advised to the SRC cash delegate. Ensure that the log book is collected and handed over to the SRC Cash Delegate.
5. Ensure that all vehicles parked at the Delegation office are cleaned (inside and outside) on a daily basis.
6. Ensure that the SRC's vehicle is properly parked at the IFRC office. In particular, check that the vehicle is parked facing the exit and not too close together.
7. Keep the service records for the vehicle within the vehicle file as well as copies of invoices for all repairs and services and ensure that a service requisition is submit-ted to the SRC Cash Delegate at due times (this should be minimum of the earlier of 6 months or 10,000 km in the case of normal driving conditions or the earlier of 3 months or 5,000 km in the case of off the road driving).
8. Check vehicle upon completion of repairs and services and, if satisfied that the work has been completed, sign goods received note or, if not available, invoice, to signify that work has been satisfactorily completed.
9. Ensure the prompt delivery and collection of letters, documents and parcels as directed by the SRC Cash Delegate and perform other official errands as directed by the SRC Cash Delegate including the collection of visas, customs clearance papers and quotations.
10. Support and assist the SRC Cash Delegate in the implementation of the cash response program in Jordan, and translate from English to Arabic and from Arabic into English.
11. Provide logistical support to field visits and participate actively in field visits as required
12.Participate actively in field visits and program related meetings in and help to facilitate communication with JRC branches and communities.
13..Assist in all other activities together with team colleagues as may be required.
14.Observe, communicate and implement security regulations of the RC/RC Movement.
15. Perform any other duties as may assigned by the Cash Delegate including general administrative issues
