Position Purpose:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of all maintenance work conducted in the refinery (preventative, condition based and breakdown maintenance) by own staff and contractors. Direct reports include: Supervisors Mechanical, Rotating Equipment, Instrument and Electrical, Maintenance Planner and workshop.
The Maintenance Manager ensures that the refinery plant and equipment is efficiently maintained in accordance with World Class practices, such that to achieve design life in a safe manner, and that the mean time beween failures is minimized.
Reports to the Engineering Manager
Position Accountability:
• Ensures that the plant on-stream factor target is achieved, through efficient maintenance strategies and techniques, involving preventative, condition based and breakdown maintenance.
• Ensures that all maintenance work, conducted by own staff or contractors personnel, complies with relevant regulations and Bazian refinery Safety and engineering standards.
• Ensures that planning & scheduling of maintenance activities is optimized and that job work order system is properly utilized.
• Ensures reliability database (MAXIMO or equivalent) is maintained.
• Is responsible for coordinating and scheduling all shutdowns of the refinery, in order to achieve safe long term operation of equipment.
• Is responsible for developing preventative maintenance work lists for all plant and equipment and ensures regular execution.
• Develops budgets, exercises controls and develops a system of proper cost monitoring, providing transparency on the various cost centers.
• Sets Key Performance Indicators for all direct reports and monitors performance against target.
• Reviews maintenance output, action plan removing backlogs and co-ordinates with the operations manager for interfacing and works towards reduction of failures.
• Ensures the workshop has adequate equipment.
• Manages own staff and contractor workforce, ensures personnel have adequate training to meet required competences, and is responsible for formulating and implementing development plans for own staff.
