Role Synopsis:
The PSCM team provides support to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. The IP Category Specialist role will include sourcing and contracting for various IP agreements (Business Support, IT&S, Training, etc.) that are needed to ensure that end users and PSCM are fully aligned and working towards agreed plans.
The PSCM Category Specialist implements sourcing strategies in alignment with applicable category strategies, as well as the ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers to deliver best value, the role requires an understanding of business objectives and the ability to engage internal customers, functional specialists and other stakeholders whose support is critical for successful sourcing initiatives. Managing the cross-functional work team for delivery of PSCM objectives. The role will be covering PSCM activities in UAE and Kuwait
Key Accountabilities
Leadership
• Accountability along with Category Lead in liaising with business stakeholders for allocated commodities & services.
• Communicates regularly with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives and to build a clear understanding of business requirements for third party goods and services.
• Leads the on-boarding of key stakeholders who are required to support PSCM approaches to the external market, coaching as necessary.
Category Management
• Supports category managers, contributing to the development of category strategies, plans and priorities, and identifying opportunities to leverage value or mitigate risk from changes in markets (e.g. technology developments, supplier consolidation).
• Implements sourcing initiatives that ensure delivery of business plans and category strategies.
• Programme management, activity tracking & performance reporting.
Sourcing and Contract Management
• Manages sourcing activities, prioritizing and rebalancing against business objectives.
• Leads the full sourcing process which includes development of scope, supplier selection, commercial negotiation, risk mitigation and contract execution, ensuring the appropriate business involvement at all stages of the process.
• Ensures application of an end-to-end (Total Cost of Ownership) view in all sourcing decisions.
• Shapes contractual terms and conditions, involving legal when required, employing best practice in contracting methods to manage risk and maximize value.
• Identifies opportunities and realizes value through effective use of strategic cost management tools (eg should cost analysis, auctions).
• Undertakes due diligence in mitigating all external supply risk from supplier selection through to contract execution.
• Supports the implementation of new contracts and change of supplier, ensuring efficient management of change and in particular effective handover to and understanding of contract terms by front line supervisors.
• Development of supplier management process & relationships
• Actively participates in supplier performance management, including ongoing contract management and control, collation of performance data, and planning and execution of supplier meetings.
• Managing, updating and monitoring the Contract Procurement Plan. Checking and validating contract's expiry dates and spend. Ensuring that all contracts are captured and managed timely
• Supporting local PSCM specialists in expediting & issue resolution.
