JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for design, implement, monitor, document and support the network infrastructure and hardware components. Oversee all operational tasks of IP Operation Department; provide knowledgeable and experienced answers to common and uncommon situations encountered by IP Network Engineers.
REGULAR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLTIES:
Design, deployment, testing, maintenance, and documentation of all networks infrastructure, this includes and is not limited to: (Switching infrastructure, Routing Infrastructure, Remote access servers, Frame Relay infrastructure, Firewalls, IDS systems, Cache Engines, Internal Network)
This position is responsible for 24/7 operational support for all core IP related issues and product concept evaluations.
Developing, operating and maintaining core IP infrastructure hardware.
Standardize and maintain core IP infrastructure software and configurations.
Capacity planning for all links that are core connecting and transit provider links.
Perform scheduled audits of Mada core IP infrastructure to insure compliance with industry "best practices".
Evaluate support requirements for all new product offerings identified by Product Mgmt team with assistance from Senior Network IP Engineering staff.
Troubleshoot core network and MPLS problems
Configuring and installing all borders, core and access routers and switches.
The maintenance of the monitoring/alerting/graphing systems to ensure that all equipment under domain is being monitored and graphed where deemed necessary.
General security of systems under domain.
Familiarity with official and unofficial (best practice) policies and procedures.
Appropriate documentation to cover all of the above.
Should perform any other tasks upon the request of his/her direct supervisor.
Monitoring, coaching and feedback, Motivation, leadership for the team and developing future leaders. Responsible for training and development of the staff.
Provides ongoing observation and behavioral feedback to employees regarding their performance.
Work very closely with team members to solve customer problems. Also needs to understand agent's problems and weaknesses and address these.
