Refractory Engineer - Solb Steel Company Oct 13th 2013, 08:19 Job Details: Job Title : Refractory Engineer Reports to : Refractory Section Head Department : Steel Making Job Purpose: Ensure the efficient and safe operation of Melt Shop and Cast Shop by handling the refractory service with minimum cost. Optimizes the use of the facilities throughout the work period ensuring continuity between shifts. Description: Processes and Production Schedule Oversight  - Identify, assess and support in implementing new technologies that will increase the overall productivity and efficiency of the refractory services.  - Coordinate with other specialists in the melt shop to ensure overall alignment on technologies.  - Support Refractory management on process excellence expertise and solve process related problems within the refractory areas.  - Coordinate with the refractory engineering to assess the production performance and recommend corrective actions for problems identified.  - Solve with steel plant process engineer the material quality related problems.  - Executes inventories and prepares orders for materials.  - Responsible for coordinating and conducting section trials. Follow up, evaluation, and reporting on trial material with coordination of process engineer.  - Supervises and coordinate refractory stock, flow and material consumption. Financial Oversight  - Follow up budgeted figures related to refractory material. Reporting and Manuals  - Prepares section monthly material consumption report and suggest ways to reduce the consumption.  - Preparing and updating material standards.  - Review and update the ISO-Documents and forms. Motivation and Employee Relations  - Pursue the HSE training.  - Prepares and carries out necessary training for employees. Communications & Working Relationships: Internal:  - All other relevant internal O&M functions.
