Overall Purpose of the Job:
Managing the Student Support for ME Centre students and provide services to students and academics in respect of the following activities: induction, workshops, course administration and delivery, examinations, material management. Also included will be the supervision of student support staff and to either independently or as part of a team, carry out student support activities and to develop services and improve facilities provided by the school. In addition they will be expected to undertake general administrative duties and responsibilities in support of all programmes and to undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time by the Director.
Key Responsibilities, Accountabilities or Duties
Manage a team of staff
• To be responsible for the management of a team of student support staff;
• Provide ad-hoc training to the team;
Manage Student Support
• Manage all aspects of the student support cycle from the enrolment of the student till graduation of the student.
• Manage new and current student registration procedures
• Mentoring of students and escalating their concerns to the Director and UK office
• To provide overall guidance to new and current students in relation to assessments, examinations, workshops and university regulations
• To liaise with the UK Support team, get directions from the Operations Manager, Academic Director and ensure information flow to the local team for any updates in university regulations
• To ensure students have all information pertaining to online resources (Blackboard, Student Portal, Library), Semester Timetable, Student Handbook and Course Outlines
• Compile and assess statistical information relating to student registrations, withdrawals, progression, attainment and retention.
• Responsible for securing venues and entire organization of induction, workshops, examinations
• To plan materials management, order and delivery and to keep up to date information for module updates and revisions .
• Manage the co-ordination of induction activities for MBA programmes
• Participate in all induction sessions
• Manage information required (for both faculty and students) for induction and workshops in order to meet agreed deadlines
• To develop effective processes for students to improve, student retention and the student experience.
• Manage the procedures and processes for dealing with students' mitigating circumstances. In addition, milestones should be monitored and progress reports for students made available on a regular basis.
• To advice students regarding their progression through the programmes and address immediate concerns
• Maintaining records of non assignment submissions and following up with the students
• To ensure quality assurance of the student support cycle
• Oversee the maintenance of student records ensuring that all relevant data is kept up to date on Campus Solutions and SRS
• Responsible for recruiting local tutors and managing tutorial sessions - online and classroom.
• Overall responsibility of arranging examinations for students of Middle East executive centre and to secure all British Exam venues in the Middle East to host the exams
• Plan current and future workshops with regards to timing, venue with co-ordination with UK workshop team and workshop directors
• Managing student workshop sessions for all modules and ensuring timely delivery of workshops in a organized manner.
• Ensure workshop directors requirements are met, accommodation arrangements • To ensure assignment and exam marks are released on time and carry out necessary exam checks for student records
• Liaise with the accounts department for updating current status of students and assist in debtors chase
