The Accountant applies principles of accounting to analyze and record financial information and prepare financial statement by compiling information, and also applies appropriate accounting and internal control procedures to reduce the risk of fraud, error or misstatements.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and monitor the accounting records, financial statements, reporting and period-end close process and communicate routinely with all parties who are involved in or are affected by a financial close.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, quarterly reports and report on variances;
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors;
- Prepare accounts reconciliation, bank reconciliation, accruals/prepayments calculations, statutory reports and other related accounting documents/schedules;
- Monitor and keep record of all business transactions and ensure their compliance with agreements. Handle petty cash, establish and maintain cash controls, prepare inter-group company reconciliation and post JVs and payment vouchers in the GL.;
- Implement accounting and financial policies and procedures and ensure that payments/all transactions are made according to the policy of the Company;
- Establish and maintain supplier accounts, purchase order system, processes supplier invoices and issue cheques for all accounts due;
- Maintain the computerized accounting system and all related financial files and records. Ensure all transactions are properly recorded and entered into the accounting system;
- Administer the Company's accounting system in order to generate the financial statements and other financial records;
- Prepare & monitor budgets, and perform financial analysis for the management of the company;
- maintain all the legal and financial documents and records in an effective and efficient manner.
- Control cost and provides recommendation to management for effective cost control.
