The Senior Volunteers Officer is responsible in developing the SDC's volunteers strategy and program and must ensure that is effectively implemented. The incumbent is also responsible for recruiting, training, evaluating and assigning work activities to volunteers for events/programs being held by the SDC.
Develop a volunteers strategy and program for SDC in coordination with the Communication Manager inline with the overall vision and mission of SDC and QF.
Asses each program's needs and assign the right volunteers for each program to ensure that the program is successful.
Monitor and direct the day-to-day operation of the assigned Volunteer program to ensure that goals and objectives are met and that services and projects are being accomplished efficiently and effectively; takes corrective action as necessary.
Review and evaluate programs and service delivery, make recommendations for future execution improvement to ensure maximum effective service provision that meet the overall mission and vision of SDC and QF.
Evaluate and monitor program resource allocation to ensure that resources are used effectively.
Conduct and organize training sessions for all volunteers before each event to ensure the volunteers are aware of the activities being conducted/presented during the events.
Recruit, interview, hire and sign up volunteers and staff for each program.
Maintain an update the FRS system with the volunteers profiles and their contact information as well as their participation in SDC programs and events to ensure all details are available as and when their services are needed.
Prepare quarterly reports to the volunteer programs and activities with recommendations for improvement opportunities and action plans.
Assist in organizing and staffing for fundraising events.
Evaluate volunteers' performance during events and give feedback.
Organize an annual volunteer celebration; suggest the honored volunteers and their suitable award.
Prepare and issue volunteers appreciation certificates according to SDC volunteers appreciation policy.
Act as a focal point for all volunteer communication, issues and queries and ensure all information is communicated in a timely and efficient manner.
Act as a rapporteur of the volunteers award committee and prepare all the needed reports, meeting minutes, forms, letters ect..
