• Devise policies and procedures (SOP's) for the smooth functioning of supply chain operations.
• Plan and prepare the budget of company's supply chain activities and ensure that spending is within the specified budget.
• Ensure that a centralized computerized operations management system is established for tracking inventory records, availability and movement of stock, purchasing of items and their availability, movement of vehicles as per the destination and availability etc.
• Analyze the supply chain reports and recommend improvements / future plans and present to management.
• Lead the procurement function and ensure that all purchases are within the specified time lines.
• Design and implement the warehouse infrastructure or make improvements in the existing warehouse storage system.
• Ensure that barcode system is working properly and there is minimum deviation in the actual and system records.
• Prepare and implement a disposal plan in coordination with the management team.
• Coordinate the sales and operations planning process including supply / demand forecasting, inventory management and on time delivery.
• Identify and manage risk within the supply chain and address strategic supply chain issues.
• Implement plans and processes which minimize supply chain costs by effective utilization of available resources.
• Develop plans to reduce safety and environmental risks.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to supply chain.
• Manage the import and export related activities and effort to reduce the demurrage and other related cost.
• Recommend objective for the year and develop plans to achieve the target objectives.
• Coordinate with other functions within the business in order to ensure effective and efficient interdepartmental cooperation.
• Encourage and initiate the use of new techniques to meet the customer expectations.
• Ensure that all functions in supply chain are adhering to Quality objectives, GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), safety and supply chain policies and procedures. Be ready for the audit at all times with up to date and accurate maintenance and inspection records.
• Ensure that adequate manpower and resources are available to meet the target.
• Monitor that supply chain is following the 6S standards to improve housekeeping in all areas.
• Prepare plans to maintain a minimum of 25% saudization rate within the supply chain department. Implement training programs to retain the local talent.
• Train and develop supply chain professionals, identify training needs for staff and set SMART objectives. Ensure that job descriptions are prepared and communicated to staff.
• Provide direction to resolve staff grievances and queries.
