The purpose of the job is:
to service catalyst sales by providing high quality technical service to Criterion's refinery customers to ensure optimum performance. This will comprise assisting with the preparation of technical estimates, start-up assistance, data analysis, unit monitoring and writing of publications.
to support new sales/business development using technical expertise to meet growth targets whilst also leveraging opportunities with Shell Global Solutions for joint catalyst and technology offerings.
to provide input for planning longer term sales and growth by giving direction, input & market feedback to catalyst R&D programmes for maintaining incumbency and to be well positioned for winning new business.
Responsibilities include:
Provide catalyst related operating guidelines and onsite technical support to customers for loadings, start-ups, shutdowns, emergencies, operational problems, product quality problems etc.
Develop and deliver technical seminars, presentations and proposals in support of regional sales managers. This includes predicting performance for prospective customers, minimising risk on performance guarantees & providing input for potential product applications and catalyst selling points.
Ensure customer satisfaction through technical documentation and catalyst performance monitoring reports. This includes replying to questions related to operations and product performance, doing case studies on request for changing feedstock or other operating conditions; performance tracking/monitoring and recommending appropriate operating strategy.
Lead incident and/or Root Cause Analysis investigations in the event of any catalyst performance issues
Participate in technical training of customers and sales personnel.
Assist in the preparation of technical literature for sales, tradeshow, trade journals etc.
Keep modelling tools up to date and/or develop new predictive tools for the preparation of technical estimates. Models to be updated both with commercial and pilot plant data.
Evaluate catalyst/unit performance and provide technical reports to CC&T customers.
Liaise with technical support centres, for technical support on catalyst testing and developments efforts.
Play a role in new product/process development: Understand customer product application needs and provide market feedback and competitive benchmarking as key components for R&D new product development. Engage key customers well in advance to be potential first users of new products.
Identify cross application opportunities: Look to catalyst plus technology (e.g. Shell Global Solutions reactor internals) integrated solutions to enhance overall business profitability for Shell/Criterion and improve value creation for customers.
