Responsible for the development of the fibre network (both Greenfield and Brownfield), management of vendors/contractors to ensure their compliance to SLAs and smooth transition of the network from build to operate.
Define Network Development Department strategy, plan and budget in line with Corporate Strategy.
Define and update Network Development Department KPI?s in line with Corporate Strategy.
Overall responsibility to ensure that the network is deployed in accordance to the network plan and design while reflecting the constraints of the implementation and ensuring that costs are maintained within the agreed budget
Ensure that the fibre network is deployed according to the timelines and strategic milestones (e.g. 95% coverage) are met on time
Participate in the review of the network RFP?s and recommends enhancements.
Participate in the review vendors? proposals and recommend the best vendor in coordination with the concerned operations team.
Participate in the negotiations in the network related contacts with business partners/vendors.
Oversee the development and deployment of the fibre network ensuring the deployment is a per schedule and within the allocated budget.
Manage the vendors and any activity which has been outsourced related to the deployment of the network.
Education Qualifications
Master?s degree preferably in Telecommunications Engineering or related field, with an MBA as an added advantage
Project Management Certification (e.g. PMI).
Experience
Relevant telecoms engineering qualifications including CCNA, CCNP or equivalent internationally reknown certifications would be a plus.
At least 10 years of progressive experience with at least 5 years in a senior management position within the telecommunications industry or related field.
Knowledge of FTTX highly desirable.
