• Define Bank's Retail Banking branding strategy in conjunction with Head of Marketing. Positions and develop the brand in-line with the banks overall strategy.
• Create an integrated sales and marketing strategy for the Retail Banking division. Reviews with GM- Retail Banking and Head of Marketing to gains necessary approval.
• Develop and manages implementation and roll-out of sales and marketing plans to achieve income, profit and market share growth objectives for Retail Banking division.
• Develop and implements a customer segmentation strategy that attracts and rewards profitable customers whilst converting unprofitable groups.
• Conduct market analysis on competitor activities, market penetration and positioning. Follows-up on market changes such as price, quality, key features, etc. Use the market research to create a sustainable and profitable differential retail franchise for the bank that can withstand domestic and international competition.
• Coach and mentor a team of competent Product Development Managers responsible for developing innovative and creative product, services and channel development. Lead and motivate the team in achieving bottom line objectives in the following areas:
- Card Business
- Investment products (Liability)
- Insurance
- Retail Loans (assets)
- Promotions and communications
- Delivery channels
- Service Quality
- Other products and services
• Manage relationships and agreements with partners, suppliers, and consumer companies.
Branch sales target and continuous feedback:
• Establish and coordinate the sales targets with the Area Managers and respective Branch Managers. Follow-up and assess the sales in Branches.
• Provide Branch management with information and results to assist them in reaching agreed sales targets. Provide feedback on Branch performance in key areas and product lines. Highlight areas of focus; development needs and corrective actions required.
• Initiate and create innovative approaches for management and staff to understand and respond to the key business and customer drivers in the bank. Lead the teams in utilizing these customer/products models in order to improve bottom line performance.
• Management of the Business Development and Marketing department:
• Manage the marketing and business development performance, decides on alternative strategies to correct performance, where necessary and present results to Executive Manager- Retail Banking on a regular basis.
• Establish and control the annual marketing expenditure budget and departmental operating costs in line with agreed budgets.
