PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or related curriculum and/or relevant experience) and 5 years progressive experience with web development using .NET technologies. Very good knowledge of and 3 years of experience in programming SQL and designing database reports. Experience in SQL 2008 is a must.
POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks to gather requirements, design, develop, customize, test, and implement business solutions using Microsoft .NET technologies. Manage, maintain and create assigned databases as backend. Works with end users to assure assigned database systems continue to meet end user needs and perform to optimum capacity. Performs standard maintenance as required. May refer complex maintenance issues to a more senior staff member. Will also generates customized reports using available reporting tools.

Identifies and executes standard change modifications. Troubleshoots standard database questions, issues and problems. Provides programming and database support in the development of enterprise database and reporting solutions. Trains end-users on reporting tools and efficient database usage.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design custom code for projects that are deployed on various platforms/databases
• Gather requirements, design, develop, customize, test, implement business solutions
• Reviews, evaluates, designs, implements and maintains assigned company database(s)
• Identifies data sources, constructs complex data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process
• Writes codes for database access, modifications, and constructions, including stored procedures
• Develops database reports and creates advanced database tables, views and stored procedures as part of SQL database administration
• Identifies and executes standard maintenance and upgrade activities
• Performs logic modeling, database replication and database restoral
• Configures the physical database environment
• Trains end users and regularly updates databases and objects in response to evolving user needs
• Works with project to identify the need for database modifications or changes and makes required database modifications and changes
• Identifies project needs, maintenance and upgrades that are beyond the scope of standard maintenance and refers those to appropriate senior level database staff
• May work under the direction of senior database staff member to implement more complex changes, modifications, updates and enhancements to assigned database systems
• Troubleshoots application issues, database questions, issues and problems, including connectivity, authentication and data quality. Refers issues that are beyond the scope of standard maintenance to senior staff; may work under the direction of senior staff to resolve complex questions, issues and problems
• Willing to participate in a 24/7 call rotation
• Contributes to overall project goals through effective communication, positive attitude and team collaboration
