They are currently in the market for a Drilling Engineer to be based in their Oslo office.
The role:
- Interface with the Asset Subsurface teams on assigned platform or MODU wells to ensure alignment in all well SW-CPDEP planning work including the development of alternative scenarios and options, time and cost estimates for a variety of well designs and operations such as slot recoveries, ERD and horizontal wells, multilaterals.
- Ensure all well objectives are identified and documented, including all mechanical risk factors, and mitigating actions.
- Use DA, CSOC and CPDEP practices and tools for project decision making.
- Perform outline and detailed well designs for assigned platform and MODU development wells.
- Create tech-limit performance curves and detailed time/cost estimates for final well design. Develop the detailed operational procedures.
- Liaise with subsurface professionals in all aspects of well design and provide onshore operational support to the drilling Superintendent during the execution phase of projects.
- Ensure RUMS, MOC, peer reviews, DWOPS and well examination process are incorporated.
- Provide technical input for all required contracts following the D&C Contract Management Processes.
- Prepare and submit all relevant Governmental and HSE and DECC Notifications and approvals within required timetables, to achieve the planned start date for well operations. Ensures these are all in place before well construction commences.
- Support Partner approval processes for detailed well objectives, well design, and time cost estimates
- Provide day to day operational support to the Drilling Supt during ongoing well operations.
- Seek to optimize all aspects of the operations.
- Capture and analyze lessons learnt, for consolidation and application to other wells.
- Ensure compliance with Well Examination Process, RUMS and Management of Change processes.
- Follow through to close out all deliverables, final well report, close out of tech-limit for well, close out all DECC permit requirements.
- Work with drilling and completion professionals and Asset Teams to evaluate, address and resolve well integrity issues that may develop with existing producing / injection wells.
- Provide support to updating and implementing CUE DCG standards.
- Liaise with CUE drilling and completions engineers and global SMEs as necessary to ensure necessary technical input is applied to the policies and standards.
- Support for special projects such as development of CUE DCG SOPs, etc.
- Maintain professional technical capabilities, in particular, awareness of new or novel drilling techniques and processes to enhance D&C effectiveness and efficiency.
- Provide support for Contract Management using the company Category Management process.
