About E&A - Design
This role is required by Engineering & Architecture (DAR E & A) - Design Division.
E & A - Design is one of the main divisions of Dar Al Riyadh Group which was established to meet the rising demand for architectural design in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. DAR E & A - Design is providing a full range of integrated professional services from Urban Design, Urban Planning, Master Planning, Project Management and Environmental, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Infrastructure Design. Presently DAR E & A is involved in the Kingdom's mega projects worth 25 Billion. Our clients include major Ministries, reputable private organizations and other international establishments.
About the Job::
The Urban Design and Planning Manager will lead a team of Urban Planners / Designers working on the development of sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the Ministry of Housing.
The team will work on a number of sites simultaneously taking them through: Concept Design, Design Development, Detailed Design Drawings and Final Construction Drawings.
The Urban Design and Planning Manager will provide leadership and vision through the various stages of design and ensure the layouts produced by his team are coordinated with the rest of the design team. He will work closely with the Landscape Manager and be confident in liaison with the Infrastructure Manager and the various disciplines under his authority.
He will be responsible for ensuring the proposed Urban Design layouts comply with the current guidelines and that Client requirements and deadlines are met. When required he will Interfaces directly with client staff and provide advice as needed.
The Urban Design and Planning Manager will report to the Project Manager and work in conjunction with other members of the design team.
About you::
Degree in Urban Design / Planning, with a minimum of twelve (12) years professional experience, or a Master's degree with at least eight years of experience. You should be design orientated and have spent recent years in a senior role in long-range master planning for an overall community development. International experience is desirable. Registration as a professional Urban Designer/ Planner is required.
The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English and Arabic is essential.
Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Must be capable of making oral presentations and be capable of presenting design ideas to the Client in addition to preparing studies, reports, and plans independently or as part of a team.
Must be experienced in working with other members of multi-disciplinary planning and design teams reporting to a Project Manager.
