CH2M HILL Environmental Impact Assessment Project Manager - Doha, Qatar
Job Purpose:
Due to the growth of our Middle East business, a highly motivated Project Manager with 4-6 years of international Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) experience is required, to be based in our Doha Office in Qatar. The candidate must have substantial EIA project management experience with a focus on transport infrastructure projects such as highways, rail, airports, ports, tunnel and bridge projects.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Responsibilities include management of EIA project teams on multi disciplinary permitting projects within the transportation sector, and as required energy and extractives sector in the Middle East. Key aspects are to lead the development of quality EIA deliverables, management of client relationships, budget control, and co-ordination of in-house and external specialists. The candidate will be required to manage sub contractors (both on and off the field), and interface with clients and regulatory authorities.
The candidate would be expected to support business development; client relationship management, proposal and pre-qualification preparation for EIA services with strategic clients.
Basic Qualifications
Education, Experience, & Certifications:
Good people skills, experience with management of EIAs for infrastructure projects, plus the following attributes:
Educated to degree or post-graduate level in a relevant science, geosciences, engineering or environmental technical subject;
Demonstrated 4-6 years experience in Environmental and Impact Assessment and contribution towards to EIA reports, environmental and social management plans, monitoring plans and evaluation;
Experience in environmental management system (EMS) development, implementation and management would be advantageous.
IEMA or equivalent accreditation;
Strong project and proposal management skills are essential;
Strong interpersonal skills (especially in a multi-cultural environment), existing client relationships/development and the interest and ability to develop additional client relationships;
Project management of multi-disciplinary EIA teams;
Self motivated, resourceful, team-focused and possess a creative, solution-based work approach;
Have initiative, energy, enthusiasm and commitment;
Quality orientated, have attention to detail and be flexible in work approach;
Culturally aware and able to adapt to the Middle Eastern working environment
Interest and ability to travel periodically within the Middle East region to support project work;
An understanding and focus on Health and Safety;
Fluent spoken and written English, additional languages (especially Arabic) would be an advantage;
A technical specialisation would be a plus (e.g. noise, air, social, marine/terrestrial ecology, offshore training);
Good computer skills, MS Office suite;
Hold a valid driving licence, and
Eligible for work permit.
