BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE::
- Supervise and evaluate all company branches within a designated geographical area
- Oversee the company branches including People, Processes, Policy& Productswithin the designated area of responsibility, ensuring all staff and management work towards achieving organisational objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency;
- Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control;
- Analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximise profits;
- Analyzing and interpreting trends to facilitate planning;
- Using information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning;
- Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met;
- Resolving health and safety, legal and security issues;
- Responding to customer complaints and comments;
- Promoting the organisation locally by liaising with local schools, newspapers and the community in general;
- Organizing the execution of special promotions, displays and events;
- Updating colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues;
- Touring the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues;
- Along with Marketing, maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing; Initiating changes to improve the business, e.g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market;
- To work with the Visual Merchandising & Space Management team and ensure proper planograms & adjacencies that support departmental plans and store capabilities.
- Generate monthly stock out statements and sell thro' reports.
- Complies with and enforces standard policies and procedures
- Select, train, motivate.performance appraisals, devising PDP, coaching and evaluate department personnel. Direct, co-ordinate and review work plans for the department, assign activities, monitor work flow, review and evaluate policies and procedures
- Holds monthly updates with team members and key strategic partners in the office for dissemination of information; prepares management meetings for dissemination of information
- Maintain a strategic working relationship with team and all key departments. Reviews their performance on a regular basis
