JOB PURPOSE / ROLE:
To manage product development and enhancement process of assigned types of products as per the value propositions developed by Segment Managers and market trends and ensure that budget and profitability targets are met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Budgets & Plans
- Develop budget and business plan for assigned products to ensure it is in line with corporate planning and budgeting guidelines and secure approval.
- Own P&L for assigned products and continuously monitor profitability to ensure budget and profitability targets are met.
Product Development & Management
- Own P&L for assigned products and continuously monitor profitability to ensure budget and profitability targets are met.
- Manage product development and enhancement process of assigned products.
- Design new or enhance existing products based on Segment Managers value proposition and determine regulatory and technology requirements to ensure that the new products are launched smoothly.
- Monitor worldwide product trends and communicate product ideas to segment management In order to keep the team abreast of latest market trends.
- Review business cases developed by Segment Managers and manage product approval phase
- Recommend pricing in line with Savings & Investments pricing strategy and secure approval (for new and enhanced products) to ensure implementation of the same.
- Collaborate with all parties (e.g. IT, Risk) for the implementation of new and enhanced products from post approval to launch phase
- Contribute to promoting new/enhanced products in launch phase by providing input to product briefs (prepared by Segment Managers) in order to guide Advertising & Promotions on key product features.
- Continuously monitor products profitability, manage product portfolio and retire solutions as appropriate in order to avoid proliferation.
- Implement corrective actions suggested by Sales Management in order to improve sales.
- Develop training modules (e.g., training material, manuals and guides) in coordination with Sales Support and HR in order to conduct product training and ensure sales staff are aware of all product features.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Develop assigned products sales policies and procedures (jointly with Distribution and Sales Management), secure sign off and coordinate with Business Process Re-engineering for process mapping.

AUTHORITY & DECISION MAKING:
- Key decisions having significant impact on the Savings & Investments are referred to the Executive Manager Savings & Investments for approval before implementation.
- The jobholder exercises financial and operational authority as per the level established by the management and stipulated in the authority matrix.
