Position Summary
The Project Manager who works under Head of Transmission line department. In this role resources are managed directly as part of a project team. The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects. Multiple projects are managed simultaneously, with a range of low to high complexity. The position requires a working knowledge of industry practices, standards, and equipment; use of independent judgment; enhanced verbal and written communication skills; and ability to work with minimal supervision. Represents and promotes assigned projects and their contribution to company goals.
Job Description
• Thorough experience and knowledge on EHV Transmission Line Construction activities like Survey, Foundation, Erection and Stringing up to 220kv level.
• Maintaining the quality and ensuring site safety.
• Proper organizing of manpower and preparation of job status report
• Verification of Contractor bills and reconciliation statements.
• Preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports to Management including any critical issues.
• Supervising all the Electrical works involved in the execution of projects.
• Planning & controlling manpower and material for project execution
Responsibilities:
Initial assignments from the tasks below will require direction and supervision; with experience the independence and responsibility will expand and the need for supervision will decrease. Job duties will include but are not limited to:
* Proactively recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and resolution of issues
* Develops and defines project scope and objectives
* Establishes and leads project team with agreed-upon roles and responsibilities
* Obtains commitment on detailed work plans including schedule, cost, resource, contingency and communication plans
* Obtains senior management approval as needed and is responsible for on-going project tracking, analysis and resolution of project cost, scope, resource and schedule issues
* Manage project scope, schedule and cost changes, with Operations Manager approval
* Ensures project documentation is maintained
* Coordinates and participates in the preparation of written technical documents such as design criteria and technical reports as well as oversees drawings preparation
* Responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating the project cash flow
* Prepares, evaluates and negotiates contracts and manages resulting work
* Communicates project status on a regular basis to all project team members
* Assesses project risk and formulates contingency plans
* Assures implementation of applicable quality standards
* Plans and leads project meetings
* Assists in the development of budget and long-term plans for future projects
* Other duties as assigned as related to Project Management
* Identifies gaps between current business practices and stated objectives and provides recommendations for process improvements to address gaps
* Supports engineers and other project managers on more complex and large scope projects. Assignments typically require standard solutions, but may include a moderate level of innovation. Under limited general direction, independently plans work to meet assigned objectives; progress is reviewed periodically for technical accuracy and adequacy in process and upon completion.
