DUTIES:-
Project management, technical direction and execution of pipeline projects
Coordination of third party project services
Review of project specific designs (stamping by design engineers)
Monitoring of project controls and associated reporting
Client interfacing on project issues
Completion of all project deliverables on schedule
Project set-up and close out as appropriate
Direct (on a project level) engineering disciplines who provide support to the projects
Implementation of corporate procedures and quality and safety standards
Client interaction and management
Project budgeting
Schedule development, tracking and maintenance
Successful project execution
Coordination of engineering and support disciplines
Provide project management (and some technical) mentoring to junior personnel
Support project management systems continuous improvement
Coordinate responses to field construction queries
Resource planning and forecasts for project execution
Managing non-chargeable time (self and administrative reports)
Provide Division Manager with project status updates as well as budgetary information and remediation plans where necessary
Assist in furthering and executing client contact plan. Pursue opportunities with appropriate assistance
Monitor and ensure client satisfaction, thus maximizing business opportunities from known clients
Network with industry, attend meetings and seminars, etc., to ensure all business opportunities are identified and addressed.
CAPABILITIES & CREDENTIALS:-
Bachelors (or higher) degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
10-15 years of pipeline design experience; 5-10 years of consulting engineering experience
Professional Engineer (.) designation would be an asset
Lead engineering role in projects with capital expenditure of $20MM +
Supervision of 5-10 other engineering staff on a project basis
Proven pipeline engineering expertise and competency, in particular the installation of pipelines and associated facilities
Work in the downstream oil and gas industry, particularly in Western Canada
Experience with Canadian jurisdictions and their various acts and regulations
Genuine team player who will encourage teamwork with the project team plus other discipline staff
High level of initiative and ability to complete tasks on schedule and budget
Focused on providing quality services to the clients in a timely manner

Primary responsibilities of the Highway Engineering Practice Leader include directing and building the Highway Engineering & Design team including staff development recruitment mentoring training; technical leadership of the Highway Engineering & Design practice; operational leadership of the practice including marketing and business development. The Highway Engineering Practice Leader will be part of our leadership team.
The candidate will also function as a Senior Project Manager. In this role you will manage project teams provide technical direction to staff ensure technical quality of work keep projects on schedule and on budget and ensure client satisfaction.
